A Lord of the Rings crossover.

First! New icon! =D

Chapter Twenty Six.

Everyone has agreed to the test to see if watching Anita feed the Aduer will make others addicted to the aduer. I'm not really sure how that's a good idea. It's like giving some coke and seeing if they'll get addicted to it because some are addicted to it. I'm sure there's no better way to do it. The morals of this book continue to astound me. Or what morals there are. Which seem to be inverse to the amount of sex there is. Perhaps that's something we should look into at a later point in regarding the overall series.

Translated this means: I want to have sex with you, even if it means I have to have sex with Jean-Claude too. Just fuck me already, damnit.

A vampire appears in the room. His name is London and he's nick-named the Dark Knight. Okay. I lie. He doesn't appear, he's supposed to have been there the entire time, but he's never mentioned having come in. His presence is never explained. He's just there. Why is he there?

To tell us that, "Requiem doesn't embrace men."

Hamilton really has a problem describing two men having sex. They don't fuck. They don't have sex. They "embrace".

I don't really embrace that idea of having metaphysical sex is only okay between two women because it may damn me.

They talk about what to do with him, and decide what has happened to him is rather like what a Vampire does to a human, bespelled him. So, they think that maybe they should try and break it like you do an enchantment on a human. They ask Wicked and Truth their opinion on the matter.

Insert obligitory description of brothers here:

The two brothers came forward into the stronger light near the bed. At first glance they didn't look that alike. They were bot tall and broad-shouldered, but beyond that they were opposites. Wicked's hair was sleek and very blond, cut long so it framed a face that was all high, sculpted cheekbones, complete with a dimple in his chin deep enough that I could never decide if it looked adorable or painful. His eyes were a clear steady blue, and if I hadn't Jean-Claude's and Requiem's eyes to compare him to, I'd have said his eyes were striking. He wore a modern tailored suit of tans and creams that made him look halfway between the college professor of your dreams and an executive gigolo. Then there was Truth.

Truth had obviously slept in his clothes. The clothes were made up of bits of leather, but not fashionable club wear, no, more like boiled leather worn smooth and soft with use and wear. His pants were tucked into boots so battered that Jean-Claude had offered to replace them, but Truth wouldn't give them up. He could have been dressed for any century from, thirteenth to fifteenth. His straight brown hair was shoulder length, but stringy, as if it needed a good brushing. He didn't exactly have a beard, just stubble, as if he hadn't shaved for a while. But under all that disarray was the same bone structure, the same cleft chin, and the same blue eyes. Wicked's eyes always seemed to hold a cynical joy, but Truth's looked tired and wary, as if he was just waiting for us to disappoint him.

I'm seeing Legolas and Aragorn here. The pair of them first appear in Incubus Dreams which was published in 2004. Return of the King was in theaters in 2003. Fellowship of the Ring came out in 2001. I believe that there's plenty of time there for Hamilton to make some Aragorn/Legolas rip-offs.

And that's just... beyond special, now that I think about it. Also, I don't know if the brothers are twins are not, but I don't see why they have to be such physical opposites. Now, I admit to having Trever and Kale dress alike when they're identical twins, but they're doing it for a reason. When they're just hanging out they dress differently, but not to such extremes. I think they're supposed to be twins, because she keeps on insisting that they're identical looking, despite appearances.

While I'm on it, what is with the vampires not having any fashion sense? Just... it's dumb.

After playing some word games (they ask Anita what she wants to do with Requiem and she says having him be free of her which they take to mean send him away) they ask her why having him so bespelled is so bad.

"My stomach clenched tight. The thought of anyone being bound to anyone else like that was wrong; that I'd done it by accident made me vaguely nauseous." But she doesn't at all seem to mind that Auggie might have the same issues. He's not even brought up.

She asks Requiem to break free, in like one of those scenes in movies were the possessed person is being asked to remember who they are and break free from their chains of binding or something.

Still more wandering around when they get back to the idea of using Anita's powers to break the spell. After some more chatter they decided that Requiem needs to feed on blood as well as the sex pollen. This will create the necessary tie for Anita to use her powers to break him... I think.

And the chapter ends with London, Legolas and Aragorn being skeptical of Anita doing what she says she's going to do as she promises to do it.
So Kippur went to the beach

She went to the beach because it was a warm and breezy day wearing loose clothes that blew out in the wind. Her feet were bare and she pranced along in the sand spinning and twirling and crying out to the gulls. Bloby followed her along, as a humming bird, zipping around her as she spun.

She felt as flighty as a feather, wanting to drift up into the sky and go where ever the wind took her. She wanted to fly. But she couldn't. Her feet were as attached to the ground as gravity kept its hold.

So she did the next best thing, she lept and jumped and twirled as well as she could. Laughing into the wind.

I haven't updated this in a while. Nothing has happened. I wish something would happen. Something wonderful and exciting like. With laughter and spinning. Sunshine and cherries and wonderful warm good stuff. Long walks on the beach with tiny sand crabs and salt in the air, swinging and dancing and twirling and laughing and jumping and wheeee! Let's go chase the birds!

“Ah, you speak. Excellent,” he said, “However, your response leaves much to be desired.” The stranger glowered at him, but didn’t respond. “I could just leave you here alone, in the snow, tied up, and go and search for a way back myself, but I think your help would be much more appreciated.” The stranger studied him, as if trying to determine how truthful Legolas was being. Legolas let him get a good look before standing up and walking towards his horse.
He heard a struggling noise and then, “Only the Queen can find another way on purpose.” The stranger called out.
Legolas turned and looked back at him. “Is that truth?”
“Yes, it is!” he said earnestly.
“Well then, it looks like you are going to take me to your Queen.”

Not trusting the stranger, Legolas kept him bound and put him on his own horse. The stranger’s horse he led himself, as it wasn’t sound to ride. He walked next to his horse, occasionally patting it and talking to it in Sidarin. The way that the stranger pointed out seemed to be no different than any other place. All was a plain snowy white broken with the black of wet rocks and dead trees.
Walking lightly on the snow after a time, Legolas asked his captive. “Do you have a name?”
“Falinor.” The other said after looking at him startled. “You?”

Despite the season, the weather was rather warm. It could be because of authorial intent or it could have been just the location. Most likely the location, because it was similar to where Kippur had grown up, close to the sea and warm all year round. She didn't think that she could handle snow, except to visit. Snow was something Alec could deal with, so where he lived was trapped in a deep winter. Yet, where Kippur had her little house, it was nice and warm. A blamy eighty degrees.

In little to nothing... well not really, but in a tank top and shorts Kippur hummed merrily as she painted the side of her house. She wasn't painting it any one color but a multitude of colors like one giant rainbow mosaic. It was fun.

I think I had a missunderstanding yesterday when I went to Dr. Crane's library. He almost fear gassed me.(Not that I think it would do any good, I don't have any reaction to fear.) He's a very strange man and will probably scare away all his patrons. He'd probably like that.

There wasn't a little bell. THERE always is a little bell. It's part of a library being a library. I don't think he understood that. He seemed to think that just because there are books and signs make it a library. And yes that's true. But there needs to be a little bell. It's part of the morphic feild thingy. It makes it more library like. I think he has issues. I think he thinks I have issues.

We're probably both right.

But he didn't ban me out right. So I shall go back.. in a few days.

Let him calm down and everything.

With Sari asleep on his chest, Alec sat on the long couch, legs on the coffee table, in his parent's parlor. His mother sat across from him, a slight frown on her face at the dirt getting on her table from his boots, but she wasn't going to adomish him yet. She didn't want to disturb her granddaughter who had just finally fallen asleep. She had been cranky all day, throwing food and refusing to eat. Alec had been worried that she was getting sick and came to get his mother's opinion. Sari seemed to be okay, and Sela thought that she probably just had a bad case of gas.

It amused her, to see one of her children frazzled from worry about their own child. Now she just had to see about her others. In truth she never thought it would be Alec who settled down and have a family. Greywolf or Laruna seemed more the type. But Greywolf was caught up in his inventions and well Laruna was seeing someone... but he didn't seem to be the settling down type. Hawk was still too young to even think about that sort thing. Alec had been a bit spoiled, being the baby for a good long time and then becoming the Fey Champion of the Sword. He looked at her a bit sleeply and smiled.

"You okay?" he asked.

She returned the smile, "Yes, just enjoying the sight of my son and granddaughter."

He gave a light chuckle. "That's good, but your son is a bit on the worn out side."

"I can tell. Your father had much the same look when dealing with you. Getting sick as much as you did, he spent a lot of sleepless nights keeping an eye on you."

"I didn't get sick that much!" Alec protested.

"When you were a baby you did," Sela corrected, "The healers were afraid you might not live. And then you had that terrible case of the Element flu."

He shrugged. "I guess. I do remember the flu. It was awful. I was cold and hot all at the same time. And I kept on hearing these voices."

"Some say they're the voices of the gods that those under the fever hear."

"There's only one god's voice I want to hear," Alec said with a smirk, "Preferably screaming my name."

Sela gave a sigh and a shake of her head in motherly dispair. "You aren't supposed to say those things to your mother."

"It's true," he insisted.

"It doesn't mean I want to hear it." She tucked a graying strand of hair behind her ear. "What did you think of your grandfather's offer?"

Alec stared at the large marble fireplace. It was one of many fireplaces in the house. It was warm so there wasn't a fire in it, but being a fire wizard's house it still predominated the room. "I don't know."

"It's a good oppertunity and it would give you more time with your family."

"I know. But I like the PPC," he said, stroking Sari gently, "I feel like I fit in there better than I do here."

"And your grandfather needs a second for the council. Laruna's off somewhere with her lover every other week, Greywolf barely remembers to eat half the time much less work in politics and Hawk's too young."

"What about my cousins?"

"Off with the caravan, you know that."

Sighing, Alec ran a hand through his hair. "I dunno."

"He wouldn't have asked you if he didn't think you could do it."

Alec smiled at this, "Grandfather has a lot more faith in me than I do."

"Just think about it."

"Alright, but no promises."

"Like that Pelmarra of yours?" Sela asked. "I asked if you were going to bring him around again for dinner and you said you'd ask, but no promises."

"Kai's a very busy god. He can't just run off to have dinner at his in-laws just because his mother in law wants him to," Alec said stiffly.

Sela laughed, "My son, the god's consort. I should be upset about this, you know. If you were going to be come the consort to a god, the least you could have done was become the consort to one of ours."

"At least he's a fire god. I'm up holding good Troven tradition by being enamored with fire," he said biting off a yawn. Sela got up from her seat and walked over to Alec, tenderly picking up Sari.

"Go, get some sleep. You're exhausted," she said, "I'll watch my granddaughter."

Alec stood up with a grateful look. Kissing his mother on the temple, he smiled, "You're the best mum."

"Go, sleep. Flatter me later," she said swatting at his behind. He danced out of the way before blowing her a kiss and exiting the room. Sela smiled and brushed some of the thin hair out of Sari's face. "You have a wonderful father, fireling," she whispered, holding the baby tight.

Exploration
can truly take place in the light of day when
nothing is hidden. The Sun's rays fill you with
energy so that you may live life to its
fullest, milking pleasure out of each day.
The Change.

Gertz sat in his office staring thoughtfully at a spot on his desk. It was an old ink stain that his predecessor had caused. He would never let a bottle of ink be in any position to stain anything, much less his desk. The Oracle of Pentach had left him feeling elated and confused at the same time. How could he be the one who saved the city? How could he be the one who held the fate of the city in his hands? He picked up a report from one of the junior teachers and tried to read it. The words didn't make it past his eyes. His mind was far to preoccupied.

The unexpected knock on the door was a welcomed surprise from the confusion of his thoughts. He barked an 'Enter' and waited to see who it was.

It was an elf. Kalik, if he remembered correctly. The ambassador from the fey realms. He glided into the room, a look of mild distaste on his face. He schooled his expression into one of polite helpfullness and smiled charmingly at Gertz.

"May I help you m'lord?" Gertz asked, standing up and indicating that the elf should sit. Kalik ignored the gesture and continued to smile helpfully.

"I hear you had a visit to the Oracle," he said, his voice as smooth and sweet as cream. Gertz stiffened but nodded. "A big task has been handed to you. Perhaps you would like some help with it?"

Gertz tilted his head alittle in thought, "What ever do you mean?"

"There are ways to get the information you wish. The knowledge of how the future turns out, which could help you decide what to do." The smile grew brighter, "I and my queen, would be willing to help you."

"For the cost of my soul I imagine." Gertz growled out, but it was only half hearted. The idea was extremely tempting. To know, with out a doubt, what would happen and what he should do. The fey's smile didn't flicker at all.

"Nothing of the sort. Just a ... serivce of some sort to be asked of later."

Gertz's hands suddenly felt like twiddling something in nervosity. The fey's stare was unnevering. He mulled over the question in his mind, feeling as if Kalik was undressing his thoughts. He stilled his hands and looked at the ambassador.

"I'm afraid, m'lord, that I am going to have to refuse your generous offer of help."

Kalik frowned, "Is that so?"

Gertz nodded, not trusting himself to speak.

The elf took on a haughty look, "Very well. If that is your decision..." He stood up and bowed to Gertz. "I wish you a good evening and good luck in your endevors." He then glided out of the room.

And with that, disaster was diverted.

Gertz never brought back one Alexander Raven Troven to be apprenticed to Lorac Calick Seriph. Alec never formed an empathic bond with Lorac. Lorac never fell in love with Alec. Alec never fled back to his own time and caused Lorac to go insane. Instead of destroying the city in a bid for magical power, Lorac lived a rather quiet life as a teacher and then as a memeber of the city's ruling council.

The element wizard lines were never removed from the population and instead thrived along with the rest of the lines. Magic and knowledge wasn't lost, but instead improved upon. The first families never lost control of the ruling council.

When Alec was born, he was born not in an old cabin but in a fine house that belonged to his grandfather who was the Troven representative on the ruling council. He still did not show any sign of having powers, so wasn't given a name in the Troven tradition, but it was caught on sooner, when his powers did emerge that he was an element wizard and he got the proper training for it. Even if he did skip school as often.

And things moved on their new paths.

Random Stuff

I was going through my Stuff file and seeing what sort of things there were. Some Early Alec stuff:

Lieutenant Alec Troven felt his wings grow tiered as he soared through the air. He was nearing the end of a routine over fly of the area. Below him he saw the bases landing strips and quanset buildings all lined up like dominos. Above that, but still beneath him was a blimp. A large lumbering grey whale in the sky. On its top was a small figure. . .Crying.
Troven swung down for a look. A small boy about, four, sat on the blimp wailing for his mother. He had white hair and red eyes. “Must be a wer.” Troven muttered. He landed lightly on the blimp and half walk, half bounced, over to the boy.
“I want my Mommie!” the boy cried. Troven tried to smile and knelt down next to the wer-boy.
“Hey, Hi.” He said. The boy looked at him. “What’s your name?”
“Trelly.”
“Well Trelly, My name’s Alec, I’m with the ++++++. Now I’m going take us back to the base ok? But to do that i’m going to have to carry you, so I want you to hold on tight.”
Trelly knodded. Alec picked him up and opened his wings. A gust soon picked them up off the blimp and sent them into the air. The boy sniffled and buried his head in the lieutenat’s shoulder as he cirlcled back radioing in his find. As they began their descent, Trelly calmed down. He looked around at the ground and then bit Troven on the shoulder. Alec yelped in pain, a tried to dislodge the mouth. In doing so he lost his grip on Trelly. Who began to fall, screaming in fear. He muttered irritably to himself and dove after the boy. He manage to grab the wer’s hand and slow their descent.
“Careful he bites” he said to the officer recivng the boy. She smiled at him and knodded. Alec landed and rubbed his shoulder. David came up to him. His blue eyes sparking and his wide mouth moving talking to the people at control.
“Yeah he’s ok. We think the wer might be from the bat group that flew by a couple of hour’s ago, we’re checking into it.” David looked up and grined. “So, great stunt with the boy and all. It really impressed the ladies around.”
“What stunt? The runt bit me.”
“No kidding. Better have a med take a look at it then.”
“Yeah sure.”

He sat on the ground with a dumbfounded experssion on his face. Up above him on the bay horse sat his brother with a grim look on his face. The brother slid off the horse to him with slow measered steps. He scuttled backwards on the ground with a vauge memory of being in a similar situation. When he backed into a tree he stood himself up.
“You like to fight, eh little brother?” Greywolf asked coming towards his brother.
“No, ‘Wolf, please don’t make me fight you.” Alec moaned in a quiet voice. He backed up past the tree, his eyes as wide as moons, hands twitching at his sides. Greywolf took a fake swing which his brother easily ducked. He then began to circle him, his normaly cool eyes, burning with anger. He took a couple more jabs all which met air. “Please ‘Wolf I. . . I can’t fight you.”
“And why not?” He snarled and then lunged. His brother, shocked, put up no defense and plumeted to the ground underneath Greywolf’s wieght. Alec’s eye’s lost the frightened look for a split instence and his training took over, causing him to roll, while snagging the other’s robe. He ended up on top, and free. He then looked down at his brother and the moons returned.
“Oh gawd, oh gawd, oh gawd,” he muttered, backing away, slowly shaking his head “I’m sorry daddy, please don’ hurt me,” he whimpered. Alec tripped and fell on his back once more. “Ah didn’ mean to.” He said over and over again.
Greywolf aproached him slowly and touched him on the shoulder. Alec turned a tear stricken face away, burying it in the dirt. “By the light,” he whispered to himself “What happened? What did I do?”
“Lemme alone.”came the choked reply. He knodded and walked off to the bay. Accross the road he tied the horse and made camp, waiting paitently.
At dark Alec came shuffling in, his back hunched slightly like a small child, not like the soldier he was in the morning when they left the monestary. He sat down at the fire and stared at the flames.
“Do you want to tell me?” Greywolf asked handing him a plate of food. He took the plate and several bites of food before starring past his brother.
“Earlier, when you wanted to know how I knew what you looked like, it was easy to tell, you looked just like dad. I didn’t, I looked like mother, so he like you better. Well because of that and you were the oldest.
“You could do no wrong, and it was always my fault, you know how it is. So when the men took you away and left me standing there with the frog I knew I was going to be in trouble. At first he yelled at me for being late and chasing frogs, then he noticed you weren’t there. When I told him what happened he got this look in his eyes, looked exactly like you when you whacked me off the horse. ‘You’re supposed to keep an eye on your brother, you’re not supposed to let anything happen to him,’ he said backing me into the wall. Then he hit me..
“and again, and again, and again. I tried to make him stop, I hit him, but it only made it worse. ‘You’re brothers.’ He said ‘what sort of brother let’s that happen?’ I couldn’t move when he was done. But I knew one thing, I had to find you. Course when I was thirteen he had to go and die, couldn’t let me make it up to him. He didn’t let me forget you though. Everyday he mentioned it. Eventually I began to hate you.” He stopped and stared down at the fire.
“So why’d you come and find me?”
“Cause, like dad said, you’re my brother.” He shrugged “so that’s what I did, I found you.”

Alec was nervous. He was edgy, and a little hungover, too. He need to let go all the energy he was building up inside him, but couldn’t. He ran his hand through his black, sweaty hair, and adressed the moniter again.
“I don’t think you understand captain. I need to do this, now, or the damage and loss of life might be alot worse. I can fix the damage too, just can’t replace the life.”
“I’m sorry, Ambassador, but we can’t evacute 16 levals, in a one mile radius, in five minutes. It just isn’t do able.”
“I can’t keep it inside, I’m going to explode...Just get them out as fast as you...” he stopped in mid-sentence as a new idea struck him. “Never mind captain, I... I have a better idea.”
“You don’t need to evacute the 16 levels?” the captain asked puzzeled.
“No, I’m sorry I bothered you. Good bye.” The moniter shut off.

“What was that all about?” The comander wanted to know.
“Nothing, I guess, the amassador was just a little edgier than useual.”
“Well maybe he’s having a mood swing.” The captain looked at her puzzeled. “Well he acts and thinks like a teen-ager. Maybe he’s having a mood swing like one.”
“Intersting to see, however... What the Hell!?” A screamed rocked through their minds sending them all to the ground, while a burst of flaming energy rocket right through them disingrating them at the touch. It roared through the staion, first the primal beastial scream that every man woman and child , human or alien felt in their minds, hearts, and souls. Then, right, after came the energy flame tearing through the bodies of everyone unregadless of rank or positon. The space station the flew apart into thousands of pieces.
Some of the pices floated out into space while others rammed into the planet that the station once orbited. The planet toke the barrage with minimal damage, but it wouldn’t survive. The same energies hit it’s surface and burrowed into its core. Melting and boiling it’s hot center. The magma seeped trhough fissures and the planet began to crack. Then in a single seconed the planet explode sending out a shock wave all around it, much like that of an earthquake’s, but this one was much, much stronger.
All around in different parst of the glaxey ships and planets were knocked off their respective cousre and orbits. The ships explode much like the station and the planets wavered and wobled off their orbits ruing citys within. Some planets orbiting closest to their stars were swallowed whole while other stars went nova taking their planets with them.
The shock wave didn’t lessen in power, being fed by the powerful energies that sparked this entire mass destruction. Then when it reached the outer limits of the galaxy it suddenly stopped spreding no further than the edge and went back. Back in space and back in time.
Ambassador Alec collapsed onto the floor on all fours. He was drained of the energy and had fixed everything. He knew he couldn’t bring the people back to life, but he could uncreate what had killed them by rewinding time, for he had much more control over time than life and death. As for the others they would just remember a bizzare feeling, it was better that they didn’t know what he was cappable.

There is no possible way that one cannot see that Raven and Greywolf are father and son. If you wanted to know what Greywolf would look like when he got older you merely had to look at Raven, and vis-versa. However there were differences one could see if the truelly look or if they knew the two. Raven had the temper. Looking into his eyes you could see a cold darkness. His face, when it smiled, had a cruel touch to it, as if he was going to enjoy hurting or doing something bad to you. Greywolf was grim, but not cold. He didn’t have and darkness in him. It was more of a resignation to fate. He, unlike Raven, rarely smiled, and when he did they were quiet, small smiles. He wasn’t one for violence, perfering his books and studing.
Oddly enough, the youngest of Raven’s children, Alec, was extremly like him in personality. He, like his father, lived in an inner darkness that overshadowed his lightheartedness. He had a hot and burning temper, but he would never show it in front of Raven, in fear of his father and his father’s temper. Therefore Raven never knew that the son he who was just like him, was the one he neglected and abused.
If Raven ever knew about his youngest son, then perhaps Alec’s life and judgement and morals might have been different. Instead of being heavily influnced by his mother and later his brother, his father would have completley corrupted him killing the light that glows in his darkness, thus preventing him from doing something that reality would never recover from. Infact he might have never have gotten the Chaos power, for the power requires the light tainted darkness. And if Raven had had his way with Alec early on then there wouldn’t have been any light left in Alec’s soul.
Raven couldn’t taint Greywolf because he doesn’t have his fathers darkness, instead he has his mother’s light and morals. Their sister, and alec’s twin, is in the middle, perhaps the most balenced of the three children.

Finding a name

Who are you? I asked him. He stood silently not answering. He kept himself in the shadows. I couldn’t see his face. I couldn’t see him. He was just at the edge of my consciousness. What is your name? Still no answer. Then: I am not interested in answering your questions yet. When I am ready I will come into the light, and you will know my name. But until then you must be content. But I must know. I insistead. He ignored me and faded back into the recess of my mind.

There was a madness inside him, Raven noticed as his son grunted under the exertion. He could see it dancing in his eyes; it was faint but there. He swept the Skane to the left dragging the sword and the boy who was holding onto it with the movement. How to exploited this madness? Raven wondered. Would it be worth it, would it be what he need to bring the boy under his unwavering control? The boy had untangled the sword from the Skane and was breathing heavily. He glanced at his father, blood dripping from a cut on his forehead, before stepping back. Why back? Raven stood his ground not wanting to follow just yet. The boy stepped back again, the bloodstone pendent gleaming against his bare skin. Raven decided to go forward. The ground rumbled underneath him and he stopped, but it was too late, the trap was sprung. A hump of earth sprung into the air with Raven on it. Suddenly it cut out and he fell to ground cursing. He had forgotten about the boy’s abilities. But part of him was excited, the boy was willing to use them in combat, to fight, and perhaps, perhaps kill.

Hrmm... that's enough for now. I may put up more later.
